How to Measure for a Security Door

You do not need exact measurements to get started. A rough width and a photo are enough for a first conversation, and we measure properly before we make anything.

What to note down

  • Width of the opening, measured at the top, middle and bottom
  • Height from the floor or step to the top of the frame
  • Which way the door opens, and whether it opens inward or outward
  • Anything in the way: handles, plugs, steps, plants or uneven walls

Write the numbers down and send them with a photo.

Different openings

Most openings are measured the same way, but each has its own questions. See entrance door security gates for front, back and side doors, patio and sliding door security gates for sliding doors, arched and round window bars for arched and round windows and retractable driveway gates for wide openings.

For the full product, see retractable security doors made to your measurements. We always confirm the measurements on site before we make your door.
